Our super techie Digital Director Helmut Schreier reports on some of his highlights from the DMEXCO expo, which took place in Cologne, Germany:

Last week I was lucky enough to go to DMEXCO, one of the biggest digital marketing exposition and conference in Europe, with my colleagues Jennyfer Rodriguez, Account Supervisor, and Thais Solano, Digital Project Manager.

We were just three of the 30,000 people who go down to Cologne, Germany every year for this mega event, and whilst Jenny and Thais went along to listen to some of the speakers at the conferences, I went looking for some brand new, super cool shit, which I’d like to share with you.UNRULY is a platform which helps to predict how viral a video will go. It works on the basis of shares rather than views, because views can be bought and shares are where the real visibility and word-of-mouth power lies. UNRULY can test across the globe in all major markets. Check their website here.

GETTINGS is an app which offers location-based offers. For example, if you are looking for new shoes in Berlin, you can open up the app and it will show you all the stores nearby offering discounts. By showing them the app you can get an added discount. Its only available in Germany but a global rollout is planned for 2015. GETTINGS also showed us a successful campaign they were running with Mercedes Benz – where to combat the problem of dealerships being outside cities they introduced along with smaller stores in big cities. With the GETTINGS app you could get a special A-Class model with a discount – Nice! All the KPIs are doing these sorts of app-based promotions these days but GETTINGS definitely stood out for me. Their website (in German) is here.

MULTITACTION is one of the leaders in interactive displays. The possibilities of these guys are huge – we’re talking about totally rethinking user interfaces and interaction possibilities here! Check out a project they did with Audi in the video below, or visit theirwebsite.
